Universal Volcano Bay

This is a fun water park! The rides aren’t huge apart from about 3-4 thrill rides. The trap door slides are so great and definitely worth the queue. The virtual queue system is among the best I’ve ever seen, you can tap into a queue virtually and then it ticks down on your watch. We did this for the aqua coaster which made things much easier. My watch stopped working at some point which was disappointing, but staff were super helpful and got me back into the virtual queue on a new watch.

5 stars no question. Beautifully themed park with too much activities for a day. Food was excellent. However, if the aqua coaster is 2 hours or less, go on. I missed the ride because the ride was full and the park closed. The wristband virtual wait system is game changing as you can go to the wave pool and stuff while waiting in your line.

I visited Volcano Bay during a cold front, so it was a bit chilly, but that didn’t stop me from having an amazing time! The park was nearly empty, with hardly any lines, which made for a super relaxing experience. Even though the weather wasn’t ideal, I still enjoyed the beautiful setting, the water slides, and the lazy river. It’s definitely a great park for a fun and laid-back day. They have free lockers available to store your personal items and bigger ones at cost.

Great place. I suggest going early to get a good seat and reserve rides in advance. Because the popular rides fill fast when the park opens, or reserve a Cabana. They are on the expensive side of $800 but well worth it. You get early admission, a server, and a cute little welcome basket. They do give you a drunk and food menu with food that you can't get in the park. Your server will go anywhere in the park to get any drink or any food that you would like. It has a mini fridge with bottles of cold water and a safe in the cabana. It also has a personal totem to select and reserve rides right in the cabana so you don't have to tap at each attraction. PLUS with the cabana rental, you get early access to the park at 9 am. The park opens at 10. Times may vary per season going. With any park or water park, you have teens and young adults who don't pay attention to older people, babies, and toddlers. So be careful of that. My 2-year-old granddaughter was almost knocked underwater a few times with kids and teens crossing over people without looking. Good thing they provide life jackets of all sizes. All the rides are fun, but the volcano drop. That slide will give you a concussion. Your head bangs on the tube quite a bit, which leaves you with a headache. The only bad thing I would say about this park is that the entrances to the rides are very confusing. The entrances are not clearly marked, but you do see the exit signs marked. You have multiple ride entrances, in one place. The water coaster seats 4 but goes by weight. You have to step on a scale for the employee to direct you to which seat to sit. Must be under a certain weight to ensure the ride runs properly.

We went to Volcano Bay two weeks ago. We loved the whole experience. The wrist bands were a total game changer. No one likes standing in hour long lines. The park is the nicest water park we have been to. We love them so of course we have been to Blizzard beach and every Six Flag water park and dozens of others. So disappointed they are dropping the virtual que wearables. It was very innovative. Also, so sad they won't be open year round. Honestly, why change what sets you apart and makes you the best?
