6 months agoReally beautiful grounds and park at the bottom. Wonderful trail for hiking and exciting trails for bikes. Sometimes this paths intersect so you have to keep alert for bikers coming down the mountain. But such a great hike, love this gem in our little city. A personal favorite to home during the fall with the colors are in full effect.

a week agoI love hiking this trail. It’s semi-out-of-shape-dog-owner friendly and just long enough to get a bit of a workout in. Plus, there is a quaint bench at the top overlook to have my existential crisis on. Beautiful!

3 months agoStarted at Wild Rose trailhead (can start at the far end of the park or next to the restrooms) and continued to overlook Salt Lake Valley. The hike was peaceful and the views were grand. Quite a few mountain bikers on the trails.

a year agoThis is a nice hike to bring your kids along. There are bike trails and people walking their dogs along this trail. Maps of the trails are placed in various parts of the trail which I found to be really helpful if you need help navigating. There is very limited parking, but I imagine street parking would be okay as well. There is a nice little playground at this park, a mini amphitheater, a large pavilion with two grills, drinking fountains and public restrooms at this park. Once you walk past all that, you'll see a few entryways leading to the trails. They do have trails designated for bikes only, but there are parts of the trail where hikers have to share with bikers. The trail is somewhat rocky so wear your hiking boots. It's a fairly shaded trail in some parts. You can get some nice views of the Great Salt Lake from here and Antelope Island. I would hike this trail again.

5 years agoMany steep trails to enjoy here. Pay attention to the signs and stay safely off the downhill bike trails. Abundant wildlife will surprise and thrill you along the way. The journey here is much more important than your destination. Keep going higher if you can, you won't be disappointed.
