💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Plan for no public restrooms; ensure children use facilities before arrival or prepare for alternatives (e.g., portable potty, short trips home).
  • Park specifically at the intersection of Damen and Winnemac to avoid confusion.
  • Be aware that the road directly next to the park is NOT for car access; attempting to drive there may lead to verbal confrontations.
  • Consider bringing a stroller for younger children or those who may tire easily from walking the extensive paths.
  • If concerned about teenagers, consider visiting during off-peak hours (e.g., weekday mornings) when they might be less present.

Things to Consider

  • Complete lack of nearby public restrooms, posing a significant challenge for families with young children or those visiting for extended periods.
  • Teenagers are frequently present and can sometimes be perceived as 'in the way' or 'menacing' by parents of younger children.
  • Confusion regarding vehicle access to a specific road adjacent to the park can lead to conflicts and exposure to 'colorful language' from frustrated individuals.

  • No specific information on overall crowding levels during peak hours (e.g., weekends, afternoons) for the playground itself.

🛡️Safety Features

  • Parents report that there are "always police around," contributing to a strong sense of safety and security.
  • Multiple gate entrances imply controlled access points, though not necessarily locked or monitored.

  • If immediate access to restrooms is a critical need for your family.
  • If you are highly sensitive to the presence of older teenagers who might congregate.
  • If you expect to drive a vehicle on the road directly adjacent to the park's main play area, as it's not for cars and can lead to conflict.

Parking is at Damen and Winnemac. Bring a stroller if you have anyone that refuses to walk... also, the road next to the park is NOT a road for cars... my 4 year old son learned some colorful language today from a cranky old man who decided to cuss me out in my confusion. Cute park with multiple gate entrances and a nature walk just outside. We now call this the big green monster park.

Our kids love it here! So much to do, and the vegetation is beautiful! Willow trees abound, and plenty of sidewalks that wrap around the park.

It's a great park with a modern playground for littles, baseball diamonds for rec games, regional vegetation, walking paths, and wide open spaces too.

Nice playground to bring my toddler to, but there are no nearby restrooms if you don't live close, and the teenagers who shouldn't even be there can get in the way or even seem menacing at times.
