"Our eldest has been at Bala for 3 years now and our youngest just did her first class. As another review clarified, this is rhythmic gymnastics so you wouldn't see the same kind of apparatus or moves as artistic gymnastics. At Bala the beginners class consists of age-appropriate conditioning exercises that prepare their bodies to perform the dance-like moves in rhythmic gymnastics routines. During certain timings the competitive team can be seen on the other side of the gym performing far more challenging versions of these conditioning exercises. In that sense they do take a no-frills approach"

"Our child has been with Bala Gymnastics for nearly 10 years. Note to other commenter: this is rhythmic gymnastics and does not utilize the equipment you refer to. As a long-time participant this kind of thing can be difficult to judge but Bala certainly seems welcoming to new gymnasts and families."
