B&B Theatres Mainstreet KC at The Power & Light District

Came here for the first time on a trip and really enjoyed this theater! Affordable (by theater prices) tickets and concessions. Clean common areas and theaters. Friendly staff. I especially appreciated that it is a family owned theater chain that has been around for some time. Great location as well!

This theater was a bad experience. Ordered 2 32 oz draw beers that was served hot they replaced it with 2 hot beer bottles instead without discounting the price difference. Our theater room was 2 flights up and the escalator was broken. Then we ordered a large fry to share and was given about 10 fries for a very heafty price tag. The only good thing was the seating was comfortable

Some of the recent reviews scared me before I came out tonight to see Dune but the fears were unfounded - the screen quality was good, the lights dimmed enough so as not to be distracting, the sound wasn't muddled, the chairs were comfortable. I had a great time at the movie. The menu on the website also scared me - but it's totally inaccurate. There's WAY more options available. It's not cheap, but there are options. Also, the staff was all very nice there! There's even a drink fountain refill station upstairs so you don't have to run downstairs to refill. The old Alamo Drafthouse was good, I liked being served at my seat, but I think B&B are doing a fine job with the place and I don't resent their presence there. Only bad thing was the sink in my bathroom stall didn't work and the knob fell off when I tried to use it :S also the ticket prices are akin to a nighttime IMAX showing, and these movies aren't IMAX. If that matters.

I had an overall poor experience here which is unfortunate because this theater has a lot of potential. Currently there are a number of major issues including broken escalators and no available upstairs mens restroom. The theater also needs some serious cleaning. When we left there were several staff members standing around the front counter that probably should have been sweeping up the popcorn all over the floor. I hope B&B can address these problems and restore this location to its former glory, until then I can't recommend it.

This theater is nice enough, but it is located downtown and there is no parking. We had to end up paying $30 for parking. Stick to going to the suburbs for seeing movies.
