8 months agoThe facility is impressive and has great potential, but the director should be more responsive and less dismissive of parent concerns. Counselors in training need better guidance on diversity and inclusion, as their role involves more than just running activities—it’s about creating an inclusive environment. While neurotypical children might find the experience easier, the quality of counselors and bunk mates is crucial. Despite these issues, my son is eager to return next year. The camp is primarily run by teenagers with only parent volunteers in the kitchen. Maybe a small handful of young college kids on site. I kept my expectations realistic and encouraged friends to join for one week early in the season when staff morale is high. It’s better to attend with a friend.

6 years agoBeach Camp has the best outdoor equipment, sunsets, and access to marine life. The beach is much better than Edmonds' because it has mostly flat areas where there are spaces to skimboard and also rocky parts with all kinds of life. I know I'm sticking with Beach Camp. The staff is incredible and the experience for kids is unlike any other. Their mission is to educate kids and they are passionate and good people. I love Beach Camp.

8 months agoI look forward to beach camp every single year. It makes you feel so happy inside all the time whether it’s the people, counselors, activities, and community. It makes beach camp feel like a second home. I love being with the people i’m placed with as well as meeting new and lasting friendships, having fun, and learning at the same time. I absolutely love paddle boarding, ocean fun zone, cabana time to just be with the people you enjoy being around, creek walk, one wheels, really everything. There isn’t one thing that i don’t look forward to when it comes to beach camp.

9 months agoI have been to beach camp as both a camper and a counselor in training and I can say that it is incredibly fun and always the highlight of my summer. Throughout my time at beach camp I have forged many strong friendships with people who I otherwise may not have interacted with. Beach camp has taught me many important skills from practical knowledge about water activities like sailing, to important life lessons. The tight-knit community of counselors and staff makes beach camp a very welcoming environment and I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for something to do during the summer.

6 years agoThis past summer was my first year experiencing Beach Camp, and I have to say, this is the best opportunity for kids to learn about marine science and water sports at a camp with direct access to the Puget Sound! From kayaking excursions to marine biology lessons, your kids are guaranteed to have a blast here.
