"Great visit to the trails along the James River around 5pm. Saw people kayaking, walking with dogs along the trails, and enjoying nature. Birds chirping overhead. Next time I’ll bring some bud spray. There were some areas with many gnats flying into my face. I didn’t get any bug bites fortunately. 1 bar of cell reception along the trails."

"This is the spot off Riverside drive right across from the Oxford entrance. They have great map signage to orient, there are tree identifications, and the trail has been refreshed since my last visit. It's just a unique canopied spot to get close to the flatwater area. Lots of great birdsong from about seven species during our 25 min."
