Hurricane Harbor Splashtown offers an entertaining experience centered around its fun water slides, a lazy river, and a large wave pool that provides big waves. It's generally seen as a great place for families with children, with staff often described as nice and the park feeling safe. Seasonal events, like a Christmas light show, add unique value. However, guests should prepare for operational issues, particularly with concessions and potentially locker room locks, and extremely high food prices.

Perfect For

Suitable for children of various ages, with 'fun rides' and a 'lazy river' appealing to a broad range, and 'great slides' for older kids/teens.

Ideal For

Families seeking a full day of water park fun with a focus on slides and a wave pool.
Frequent visitors who can maximize the value of season passes and quick parking.
Parents willing to manage food and drink logistics independently (bringing water, eating outside).
Families interested in experiencing seasonal park events like Christmas light shows.

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Consider purchasing a season pass, especially if planning multiple visits, as it offers better value and includes 'quick parking'.
  • Buy tickets online to streamline entry.
  • Bring your own water bottles, as they are explicitly allowed.
  • Do NOT rely on park food; plan to eat outside the park (e.g., at the nearby Wendy's mentioned by a reviewer) or bring permissible snacks due to high prices, low quality, and often cold food.
  • Be prepared for significant wait times for popular water slides and the physical exertion of climbing many stairs.
  • If using locker rooms, it might be wise to check the lock mechanism or ensure someone is aware of your location due to a reported malfunction.

Things to Consider

  • Locker room locks may be faulty, with one guest reporting getting stuck inside a locker room (end of 2024 season).
  • Lifeguards are described as 'really quick to admonish' even when guests are not causing issues (e.g., whistling at someone admiring a slide from the lazy river when no one else was near).
  • Concession staff can be slow and exhibit an 'I don't care attitude' for the most part, though some are friendly.
  • Frequent computer issues at concessions lead to long wait times (e.g., 15 minutes for 3rd in line, card scanned 8 times).
  • Food is consistently served room temperature or cold (fries, chicken strips, tacos, pizza).
  • Food quality is poor for some items (e.g., cold, dry, rubbery corn tortillas for street tacos).
  • Food items (pizza, burgers, fries, chicken strips) are reportedly left sitting out for over 15 minutes before being served.
  • One guest reported getting sick after consuming park food.
  • Lines for water slides are very long.
  • Many stairs need to be climbed to access the water slides.
  • The Christmas light show ride is too short.

Price & Value

Food prices are exceptionally high; for instance, $17 for a hot dog or a slice of pepperoni pizza, and $20 for a burger and fries or a slice of pizza and fries. The generous serving of fries doesn't offset the overall poor value. Season passes are recommended for better value if visiting multiple times, as they include benefits like quick parking. The seasonal Christmas light show is considered 'well worth time and money' for families with kids.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • No specific accessibility accommodations are mentioned in the reviews. The mention of 'so many stairs' for slides could pose challenges for guests with mobility issues.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • Outside water bottles are allowed.

🚗Parking Info

  • Season passes include 'quick parking'.

👥Crowd Levels

  • Lines for water slides are described as 'so long', indicating significant crowd levels at popular attractions.

🛡️Safety Features

  • The park generally 'seems very safe'.
  • Lifeguards are noted as 'great', implying effective supervision.
  • One reported instance of a faulty locker room lock (user got stuck) indicates a potential safety concern in that specific area.

When to Avoid

  • Eating at the park's concessions if you expect hot, fresh, or reasonably priced food.
  • Visiting with an expectation of short lines for popular slides.
  • Solely relying on locker rooms if you have critical items, without first verifying lock functionality.
  • Visiting if you dislike climbing many stairs (for slides).

We have been going to this water park for 2 years now and I have always been satisfied with everything. But on the last day of the 2024 season, I had an embarrassing experience. I went to the locker room, locked the door inside the room, and could not open the door. I did not have my phone with me, I was very scared.. I used a trash can to stand on it and call my husband. Luckily, my husband was waiting for me next to me, and he just came up and I was able to open the door from the outside. It's good that everything turned out well. I really hope that by next season all the locks in the locker rooms will be repaired..

Light show for Xmas. Was great but too shor of a ride. If you have kids is well worth time and money. Can't wait for next year.

There are some really great slides, and we had a blast. The lifeguards are great but really quick to admonish. Stopped to admire one of the slides from the lazy river and got a whistle to keep moving, even though no one else was near us. The concession staff were slow, but it was opening weekend. They have an I don't care attitude for the most part, but there were a few who were very friendly. Too many computer issues as well. I was 3rd in line and it took 15 minutes before I got to order. They had to scan my card 8 times. They don't seem to know the concept of hot food.of our 4 meals, not a single one was hot. Fries, chicken strips, tacos, pizza... all room temperature. Was sick on Monday. Street tacos were on corn tortillas that were not at all warmed, they were right out of the package and were dry and rubbery. Pizza, burgers, fries, and chicken strips left sitting out for over 15 minutes before being given to guests. Horrible. Prices were unbelievable. $17 for a hot dog?? Or a slice of pepperoni pizza? No wonder everyone leaves and walks to the Wendy's near the entrance.

Fun rides, lazy river, places to relax, shops with water park stuff and souvenirs. It’s a great place. The only downside was the price of the food…$20 for a burger and fries and $20 for a slice of pizza and fries. The serving of the fries was generous but not recommended to rely on food there. Park is open 11-6. You can buy tickets online. If you’re going to go more than once this summer I recommend season passes especially because it comes with quick parking. There’s a six flags app that has the map of the park and more details in there. The staff there is nice and the park seems very safe.

I love this place. We have premium season passes, so we go whenever we want to go. But the lines are so long for the water slides && the stairs- oh lord it's so many stairs. But it's worth the 30 second ride. The food is pretty high, but they let you bring water bottles in. Other than that , me and my brothers have a blast here every year. I recommend you should go get a season pass to this water park next summer. Oh and let's not forget, the waves in the wave pool is so big. I love it!!!!😹🪴
