11 months agoIMAX theater does not have the recliners. Seats were small and uncomfortable. Other than that the rest of the AMC is better. This is a review just for the IMAX.

3 years agoThis is probably the worst imax theater I've been to. The seats are disgusting and the arm rests move up and down but in the down position they are too far down so your drink wants to fall forward out of the cup holder. The other auditoriums in this AMC have nicer reclining seats with bigger arm rests that function properly but not the imax theater. The trade off is that the screen and projectors in all of those auditoriums are garbage. Dull, dim, jittery image. The audio is just as bad. I walked out of a movie and asked them to turn up the sound, there was no low end and the dialogue was so quiet. They offered me a refund but I just wanted them to turn the volume up. The middle ground is the dolby auditorium they have across from the imax. This has a better projector and audio than the standard auditoriums AND the recliners, the experience isn't imax though. The recliner buttons are touch sensitive and sometimes not responsive. This is the closest imax theater and basically the only one in Jax unless you count Orange park so I'll be back but I'm not happy about paying imax prices for these seats.

5 years agoI love the pageantry of the whole thing. Love the falcon show, the tournament and the food. It did bother me a bit about all the upselling they did. But overall a wonderful experience!

5 years agoWhile this theater advertises that they have their 'Signature Recliners', the IMAX auditorium does not have them. (Neither does the Dolby auditorium. All of the Digital auditoriums do have their signature recliners which are VERY COMFORTABLE). The only other reason that I am giving the IMAX &Dolby portions of this theater a 2☆ rating (All of the Digital auditoriums would get a 5 ☆ rating ) is because while this theater is handicap accessible, the staff is not the best in helping me to get through the main doors as I enter the building in my wheelchair. I can understand if there is a line of people in front of me as they wouldn't be able to see me and my friend trying to come in. But when they are sitting/standing there with no one around, it would have been nice if they would offer to help hold the door for my friend to roll me through the doors. One did point to the furthest away Exit Door and tell us that there was a handicap accessible door with a push button to *GET OUT*, however she never offered to help us get in by offering to hold the door open or anything. Keeping in mind that both my friend and I are both A-List members, and I am in this same theater atleast 3 times per week, my friend often goes 4 to 5 times per week. They know us well enough that they don't always ask for our ID. You'd think they'd have the forethought to come hold the door. Otherwise, this is a great theater, and if anyone is wondering about whether the A-list, and you love going to the movies, it's definitely worth it.

5 years agoAMC Tuesday movie was only $5 and they have extremely comfortable reclining seats. I had a great time watching THE (new) LION KING. Some movies are really designed and made for the big screen and can be best appreciated by seeing them in a theater
