I’m not a beach-goer but coming here to view the lake on either of the two piers is amazing. It gets very crowded in the summer on the beach. The bridge also is open for cars during colder months and is closed for boat traffic in the warmer months too.

We first visited here in 2019 as a place that was close to where we were driving from and for an easy way to step out onto Lake Ontario. Weather was warmer on that trip so there were more people walking on the pier, on the beach and in the water - whether swimming, wading or boating under sail or power. Nice white sand. Clean water. There are trails to walk down, too. We enjoyed lunch and freshly made ice cream at a nice spot alongside the parking lot. (Don's Original in my reviews) I have pictures on GM from that visit but under Mayer's Marina as the main channel is on the other side of the pier. This visit October 2022 was a cooler day with a lot of wind as a small front was coming in and the sky was gray and full of rain clouds. The plus to this was the waves were rolling in at a good speed for a good water show from the beach and crashing against the rocks along the pier for some high foam and spray. (see my videos) The wind became strong and cold enough to shorten our time on the pier as we were all enjoying the experience, taking photos and loving the sound of the wind, the lake and the birds. One wave hit hard enough to drench me which made us all laugh. It's a great place to visit if you're in the area and for residents it must be a joy. I do wish there wasn't any graffiti on the beacon but I'm sure that's an ongoing chore. The sunset and sunrise photos I've seen look incredible. We'll try to see one next time.

I love coming to this beach and hitting up the bar down the street. Its perfect for swimming, grilling, and boating. The water isnt dirty and the beach is usually not too trashy. This is one of my favorite beaches by Rochester to visit. Its amazingly beautiful during the winter time also!!!
