a year ago"Old but Gold: A Visit to Kellogg Park at La Jolla Shores" Kellogg Park, nestled in the scenic La Jolla Shores of San Diego, is a testament to the timeless joy playgrounds bring to children. Despite the playground equipment showing its age, being at least two decades old, it stands remarkably well-maintained, a clear reflection of care despite the relentless ocean weather it faces. The joy and laughter of children playing are proof of the playground's enduring appeal. While an update might enhance its aesthetics and functionality, the current setup doesn't seem to hinder the fun. The location of Kellogg Park, right on the beach, elevates the whole experience, blending playtime with the natural beauty of the shore. Apart from the playground, Kellogg Park offers more than just swings and slides. It's a prime spot for witnessing some of the most beautiful sunsets, with the ocean horizon painting a vibrant backdrop that captivates both the young and the old. This picturesque setting makes it an ideal location for families seeking a day filled with fun, nature, and tranquility. In summary, Kellogg Park at La Jolla Shores may boast equipment from yesteryears, but its charm and the sheer joy it brings to children remain unaffected. With its stunning beachside location and breathtaking sunsets, it provides a very positive experience that calls for a return visit. A little update could bring a fresh vibe to the playground, yet even as it stands, Kellogg Park is a beloved gem for families to enjoy.

9 months agoOne of my favorite parks in San Diego! Beautiful little playground, clean (flushable) public bathrooms, rinse showers, lifeguard, and La Jolla Shores is a great beach. Oh, and a free parking lot! Get there early though for parking. My favorite time is 7am; get set up in the park or on the beach, and leave by 1pm when it’s hot. Kids love Kellogg Park! Places to eat within walking distance if you don’t pack any food to bring. Some picnic tables at the park, or bring blankets. Dog friendly, although we always leave ours at home. We’ve been going to this park for over 25 yrs. Also love seeing the surfers on the water from the park.

3 months agoI came here for the park but stayed for the scenic beach setting, the sound of waves crashing ever so slightly in the background, and the sun twirling experience. The park is sunken into a bed of sand, so if you're not a sandy type, it is best to keep to the walking path. The park really needs a makeover. For it being in La Jolla, one of the most prestigious towns in SoCal, I'm surprised by the public park. It's not a good representation of the city.
