Nachand Canoe & Kayak

Great kayak rental spot close to the city. Booked a day in advance for an August Saturday afternoon & it was beautiful weather. They helped push us in and out at the launch. Leisurely 2 hour kayak to the left to the waterfall is worth doing. Some people seemed to have trouble finding it, look for a small trickle of water over a large bunch of rocks on your right hand side and climb up there. It is super super shallow right before it, you can’t miss it. Good balance and/or sturdy shoes recommended although it was doable in sandals just be careful. Lovely quiet river, I didn’t think it was too crowded. Did also see turtles, fish, different birds, and one deer.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived a bit early for our reservation but they let us get in the water early. Our canoe was in great shape and the scenery was awesome. We will definitely be back again.

How did I not know this place existed?! And 20 minutes from my home, no less. We had a wonderful day on the water exploring Harrod’s Creek and didn’t have to worry about portaging like you do this time of year, late summer, in a lot of places. Got a decent workout in also. Customer service was phenomenal. Kind people. Good equipment. Great experience at an honest price. We’ll be back and soon!

This was such a great weekend excursion. A friend and myself showed up without booking in advance, we were greeted and swiftly taken care of. I highly recommend making your way to the waterfall. On this adventure we did manage to make it back an hour and a half late, however, the owner was kind enough to not make us feel awful about it. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Love this place! Seems to be busy, so be sure to book ahead and show up on time. The creek is plenty deep with very few hazards. Great for beginners, families, and those looking for a simple and relaxing paddle. There is not much current, which is great for paddling up stream to see some nature, but also means you'll be paddling a lot if you wish to cover a lot of distance. Great fun place with fair prices! I hope to come back many many times!
