a year agoI took my 5 year old to the production of My First Nutcracker and was pretty disappointed. The production value and talent were pretty mediocre, not what I expected for a show in NYC. One positive is that the theater is nice and small, so not a bad seat in the house. But overall I would not recommend.

a year agoI’m amazed that this “my first nutcracker” was $50+ per ticket. I expected a lot more from anything in NYC. I will not be back. My kid has seen higher production value events for free. That’s not tongue and cheek, really disappointed.

7 years agoNYCCT productions are a great way to introduce young kids to the magic of theater. I've been taking my kids for years now, since they were 3 and 6, and they have consistently enjoyed every one and are happy to go. I find the productions to not be shlocky, but rather on socially relevant themes and topics, all performed by talented actors with top-notch production values. Prices are reasonable and they understand how to keep kids entertained. I couldn't recommend more highly.

7 years agoMy wife and I love to take our two grandchildren (9, 14) to see New York City Children's Theater productions. They are always entertaining and are a wonderful way to spend the day with the whole family!
