4 months agoI visited REI coop at the summit to get some hiking pants. Got help from 2 associates Abby and Claire. Great help locating what I was looking for and what I needed. Shopped around a little and found a few more goodies. Store was clean. Shoe selection small for an REI. Hiking packs, sleeping bags, trekking poles, and clothes. The cycling selection is very limited. My only complaint is that it’s at the Summit. This place is awful and was designed by morons. Traffic patterns were never even a thought designing this place. I come in from Cahaba Heights.

a month agoI have never been to an REI but when I entered I felt immediately welcomed! The store was very clean and well organized making it easy to access! I was helped by many different employees that made their best efforts to help me and my friend get what we needed! Especially the cashier Jace who helped us check out, he was really helpful and kind! I would definitely come again!

8 months agoExcellent selection of all types of gear. Prices always run a bit high in REI but you pay for quality products here. Best to take advantage of the sales and membership deals. Overall great store!

a year agoI like REI and most of my camping gear was bought there. Staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and more fun than servile. REI brand articles are of great value and the 365 day return policy for members gives me the peace of mind. I am still using an REI tent that I bought 20 years ago. Overall, more quality than gimmicks, more information than pushing a salel, and a decent selection in store.

a year agoThis is the second time we’ve been here after we were told it existed at the Summit. On our first visit, we purchased my wife hiking boots after she spent the afternoon trying to walk the trails of Moss Rock in tennis shoes. We did try to get them before hiking that day, but Mountain High Outfitters didn’t have her size. This place seems to have everything you need for outside activities. The membership they offer paid for itself after our first purchase. It offers you member only sales and to be able to return items up to one year after your purchase. It is good at any REI store from here to Florida.
