An indoor waterpark resort that offers great convenience with room-to-park access and a safe, compact layout perfect for keeping eyes on younger kids, but is severely held back by outdated, dirty hotel rooms and frequent water attraction closures.

Insider tips
- Inspect your room immediately upon check-in for cleanliness and noise levels, and request a switch early if needed
- Claim seating early in the day as chair-hogging with towels is a major issue
- Be prepared for potential water slide closures and long wait times
- Explore the many restaurants and activities located just a short drive away from the lodge
Good to know before you go
- Avoid staying if you expect modern, pristine, and quiet hotel accommodations
- Avoid relying on immediate on-site management resolutions for billing or refund issues
- Outdated, dirty, and poorly maintained hotel rooms with stained carpets and dusty furniture
- Frequent closures of water park attractions leading to long lines on remaining slides
- Dangerous rocks in the lazy river that make it hard to relax

- Lines for functioning slides can reach up to an hour when other attractions are closed
- Value
- Generally considered overpriced and expensive; parents felt the high cost was not justified due to dirty rooms, outdated facilities, and closed water attractions.
- Food
- On-site dining options are decent, including a newer downstairs restaurant, but many alternative dining options are located very close by off-site
- Accessibility
- No specific accessibility features were mentioned in the reviews
- Safety

What parents say
"Disappointed overall. Alot of the water park attractions were closed while we were there which made other rides overcrowded. Lazy river was nice, but the rocks were dangerous and made it hard to relax. The slide lines were so slow (when they were actually open). There was nowhere to sit as most people dropped their towels on chairs and left so for those of us who actually needed to sit, it was impossible. The lifeguards and staff were great! Room was fine yet outdated and TV had signal issues most of the trip. Arcade was good and kept kids entertained. Needs more non-water park activit"

"We recently spent the night at the Great Escape Lodge and I wanted to share some candid thoughts. First, the positives. The waterpark was great for kids under 12 and small enough that they could roam yet still be within sight. The waterpark was clean, very safe and overall a positive experience. The staff and lifeguards were great and it felt very safe and was a lot of fun. The dining options were also pretty good, especially the newer restaurant downstairs. The location is great as well. We spent the night here and the hotel itself needs A LOT of work. We stayed in the cabin bunk suit"

"We went over spring break with 2 children and had such a blast. Staying at the lodge made it easy so we could go back and forth throughout the day from our room to water park. The water park was so much fun for all. There were many things going on around the lodge to keep the kids busy. It is centrally located so you're a quick drive to mini golf, shopping at outlets or running to a store. We will be back for sure."
