a month agoThis place is absolutely fantastic for anybody who wants to explore a little bit of nature and learn a little bit about some cute and not so cute creatures. The butterfly gardens are pretty awesome although when I went, I believe that they were mostly asleep. They are everywhere and you enter through the top floor into their habitat and then circle around a bridge until you get to the bottom floor. You can interact with the butterflies just be careful not to hurt them. They also have other species of animals. You can also host events there and their outdoor space is quite gorgeous to walk-through. Highly recommend you go there with kids! Maybe on a date. Definitely host your event there if you can.

a month agoMy son is autistic and he loves butterflies so we try to make a trip to the discovery Gardens every once in a while. They have butterflies flying around freely in the exhibit, and they also have chrysalis hatching, and we saw several butterflies coming out of their cocoons. This time my daughter came along, and she did get overheated inside of the butterfly house so we had to leave earlier than we normally would have. They keep it pretty warm and humid for the butterflies and other wildlife. We will come more prepared for that in the future.

3 months agoWe went to see the TDG Festival of Lights on Saturday evening, it was quiet making this very intimate experience. We were expecting crowds, still the organization was great. The lights and overall setup were really good, we were lucky with the weather as it was nice and warm already on Feb 1st. Would definitely recommend!

7 months agoTook our 5 and 3 year old grandkids and could have stayed all day! I knew there was a butterfly garden, which is why we bought the tickets but didn’t realize there was so much more to offer! The outside garden area was also gorgeous, beautiful well maintained walking trails, shaded playground and sandpit for the kids to play. The reptile shack house with turtles and other critters and the train exhibit at the end was a nice surprise. The worker inside the butterfly exhibit was so sweet and loved showing my grandkids how the butterflies lay their eggs, what they eat, showed them the honeybees…she was so informative. Enjoyed an ice cream treat before we left and the gift shop was adorable. We went at the perfect time it was not crowded and will definitely be back!
