6 months agoWe went to see the China Lights exhibit at Boerner Botanical Gardens on 10/20/24. It was even better than last year. Whitnall Park is the perfect place to host this. It's our second year coming and we'll definitely be back!!

6 months agoI'm a hobbyist photographer and I'm always looking for beautiful and interesting places to photograph. This park isn't far from my place so needless to say, it's visited frequently. I've practiced my nature and my portrait photography here. There are many places that are worth it. Trails are simple but be cautious, the initial hill going up and down isn't ideal during winter. I struggle personally as I have spinal issues. So if you have balance issues or any issues with stumbling or falling, take someone with you to hold on to. If you fall, you can slide down with someone at least to be there to make sure you're alright. For the most part I believe it's dog friendly. I've seen plenty when I go. There is one very long hiking path that goes around the small lake I believe it is. Plenty of spots to enjoy a good view and every so often a bench to rest on. Plenty of geese during the summer and fall to watch. Just be careful. The moms aren't particularly friendly despite the abundance of people that can be around during peak times. So be respectful of their space as well.

a year agoWhitnall Park Pond trails. This was beautiful! Free entrance and free parking in the lot right before the golf course. It was 90 degrees this day, but a beautiful breeze. It was very humid in some spots where the trees crowded in. Several different trail options, we did the trail around the pond. It was cleared with a wood chip path to follow. Around the pond is not wheel chair friendly. The path is easy to navigate on foot, but there were a lot of places with slight inclines, nothing steep, but not a straight level shot. It was about 1.5 miles walk. Lots of birds, even saw a deer close enough to touch (I did not), frogs, lizards, flowers and a small waterfall. There are benches throughout. No bathrooms at this section of the park. Planning to come back in fall for some of the longer trails when it’s not so hot!

8 months agoA natural oasis and true treasure in the greater Milwaukee area. I go there 4-5 times weekly, especially during the warmer months.
