2 weeks agoIf you haven’t been here, you need to go. The bar is such a fun place to hangout before your movie starts! The little bites they offer are very movie theater typical, and the drinks are phenomenal. The theater seats are a smidge cramped so beware, especially if you lean on the heavier side or if you have long limbs. This is not Alamo or Cinemark, so no big recliners. The atmosphere makes up for it though—ten fold.

2 months agoThis is one of my favorite places in Dallas! The history, the vibes, the passion and love for cinema present here is unmatched. It feels like a community here and I am so obsessed with this theatre. The special events and screenings they put on are SO unique and fun, and any chance I have to see a movie here I take it!

6 months agoThis place is my church. Aside from its historical significance, which is incredible it’s the kind of place where you can see great movies projected on actual 35mm film! I’ve never been happier than when I’m at the Texas Theater. Every single employee at the Texas Theater is a genuinely awesome person because they love movies too. Admittedly I am a little biased given that I love movies but I think a lot of people like movies and even if that’s not you it’s a one-of-a-kind experience that you won’t forget. It’s the kind of place you come into and you feel the history in that building in that auditorium. It’s a special special place that I love dearly

a month agoOld Theatre but good for small screenings or plays. Watched Roast show which was appropriate for the show and crowd.

a week agoMy wife and I want to THANK and RECOGNIZE two outstanding employees at Texas Theater in Dallas for their help in recovering $400 we had accidentally dropped in the floor not knowing it. They are Chad and Chris. We are from out of town and had taken the Lee Harvey Oswald tour in Dallas earlier this month on Saturday, April 12th. Our tour guide took us to Texas Theater and once inside he explained to us the events that took place the day JFK was shot. Before we left to get back on the tour bus we stopped at the snack bar and got a couple of soft drinks and some popcorn. My wife had taken out an envelope with money in it and paid for these refreshments and accidentally forgot and left it laying on the counter. As we left, I must have accidentally knocked it off into the floor. The next morning Sunday, my wife started searching for the envelope in her purse and couldn’t find it. She was sick to her stomach. I had to wait until they opened up after lunch and drove back to Texas Theater and explained to them what had happened. Chad and Chris both remembered me and explained that they found the envelope in the floor and before they could get outside to give the money back to us, we had already drove off in the tour bus. They had even written on the envelope, the date and time they found the money which I showed them pictures that we had taken there at that exact time. I called my wife from there and she was so happy and in tears she wanted me to give them the phone so she could thank them personally. These two guys are truly a blessing. Texas Theater is lucky to have these two guys working for them. The next time we come to Dallas, we will surely patronize that theater and watch a movie. Thank y’all very much.!!
